Four Week Intensive Yoga teacher training course, 2015

Authentic Yoga Teacher Training at Gymea Eco Retreat and Spa, Uki. 25 April – 24 May 2015

Immerse yourself for four weeks in an authentic yoga lifestyle and emerge with the heart and mind of a yoga teacher! Inspired by the gurukula tradition of learning (teacher and student live together) the Sivananda Yoga Peetham Australia Yoga Teacher Training Course (SYPA YTTC) is an opportunity to deepen your experience of all aspects of yoga. Even if one does not wish to be a yoga teacher, one may undertake this course for the intense purification experience and personal development.

The curriculum includes asana (exercise), pranayama (breathing), meditation and relaxation techniques, yoga philosophy and other traditional yoga practices. Teaching methods and the student-teacher relationship form a key part of the program.

A unique cultural experience

In the beautiful setting of Gymea Eco Retreat in Uki, Northern New South Wales, esteemed international teachers Swami Govindananda, Swami Nivedananda, Mani Chaitanya and Sita-Ma will guide and support your learning during the course. Assisted by a team of Australian Sivananda teachers, the approach to teaching is personal, focusing on the individual student. Beautiful rituals and traditional Indian ceremonies are a unique feature of this course.

Living, studying and working together with teachers and other fellow students for a month in the traditional Indian gurukula style was a very special experience                                                                                                                      YTTC graduate

This Four Week Intensive Yoga teacher training course fulfills the requirements for the International Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification, for which graduates of the program are invited to register.
